Module summary
Important: places on this course are limited, and will be granted on a first- come, first-serve basis, but only after Russian students have been registered for it. For this reason, students wishing to take this module as an elective will need to come to the Electives Fair in September for enrolment. The objective of this module is to acquaint the student with works of classic Russian literature from the 19th century in English translation in chronological sequence and by genre; and to develop ability at literary analysis.Syllabus: Four nineteenth-century writers will be studied. Teaching is by weekly seminar and fortnightly lecture.Assessment comprises two essays of approximately 1,500 words each.For more information, please contact the Departmental Secretary Mrs A. Four 19th-century writers will be studied.
