Objectives

To gain knowledge and understanding of the functions of food and nutrients and their relationship to health and disease.

Syllabus

Dietary minerals and health. Functional foods. Dietary supplements. Nutrition from an international perspective. Polyphenols and health. Antioxidants and their health benefits. Diabetes, obesity & heart disease. Appetite control and obesity. Dietary assessment methods.
