Dissertation SLSP3040 and Extended Dissertation SLSP3050.

This module is not approved as an Elective

Objectives

On completion of this module students will present a dissertation which demonstrates their ability to:
- independently formulate and research a social policy question;
- carry out independent research into a topic in the field of social policy;
- show their in depth knowledge and understanding of social policy debates in their chosen topic of enquiry;
- evaluate the social policy debates and/or empirical evidence and methods they have used in the dissertation;
- write an extended piece of work in the field of social policy.

Syllabus

The social policy content shall be negotiated between the student and their supervisor.
