Objectives

To provide students with the research skills needed to carry out research in the area of human and sustainable development in Africa; and to produce a piece of research of a theoretical or empirical nature illuminating an aspect of this area.

Syllabus

This module will help prepare students for the dissertation through an examination of research design, of different research methods and of techniques of data collection and analysis. Student's competence in word processing and the handling of different computer packages will be developed through a variety of exercises relevant to the subject matter of the scheme.
