You will also learn about databases and how to access environmental and socio-economic data from a variety of different sources.

Objectives

On completion of the module students should:
1. understand the value of database systems and how to use them;
2. understand the basic spatial analytical functionality of a desktop PC-based GIS package such as ArcGIS;
3. have skills in using databases and GIS including data entry, manipulation, editing, analysis and mapping;
4. be able to work with vector and raster data.
