Objectives
The aim of this module is to provide students with the skills to act in a consultancy capacity for both external and internal clients in a commercial context providing evidence based solutions to business problems. This is compulsory for the MSc Business Analytics & Decision Sciences, as this is a likely role for graduates, working as part of a team.Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:
- analyse and articulate the consultancy process
- explain the importance of understanding client needs (internal and external)
- apply different ways of identifying the required resources to achieve the business goal in an evidence-based way (as shown in the sessions, and outlined in the syllabus).
- analyse and articulate business communication and management of the implementation process.
- identify the need for reflection and review in developing their consultancy approach.

- Business analysis: understanding client problems
- Data audit: what is possible now, what is needed to properly address the issue
- Techniques audit: what is possible now, what is needed to properly address the issue (can include training needs)
- Identifying the intervention
