Private study

Sufficient private study and independent learning to meet the assessment requirements of their host institution.

Additionally, students are expected to seek experiences to improve their personal development. They should reflect on these experiences and analyse what personal strengths and weaknesses are being highlighted or addressed through them. Students will be briefed on the reflective assignments they will have to complete for the module to ensure that there is a common understanding of the level of work required. Students will also have completed the Professional Skills module (5903M) on the MSc International Business, which incorporates a written reflective assignment and teaches reflective learning. This module will expect a deepening of skill in this area.

Students should set personal goals and execute action plans to enhance strengths and improve weaknesses. Where appropriate, they should seek the help and advice of peers and tutors in both the host institution and at home to advance personal development goals. They should identify barriers to personal skill development and behaviour change and find ways to overcome those barriers.

Students are expected to record their learning in an ongoing journal, including, where appropriate, evidence that they have been able to apply relevant theories of cross-cultural working gained during their studies on the International Business programme.

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Students will complete two video presentations during their time at their host institution which will enable the module leader to monitor their progress on other learning outcomes.
