This module is not approved as a discovery module

Objectives

The module aims to help students understand the elastic behaviour of indeterminate structures (ie those structures which cannot be solved using simple statics).

At the end of the module students should be able to:
- determine the force actions in such structures using a variety of techniques;
- measure and compute the solutions to complex structural stress problems, apply failure theories in design.
