Objectives

To develop and enhance understanding of the commercial and economic context within which construction projects and programmes are delivered.

Learning outcomes
1. Discuss the commercial and economic context of civil engineering projects.
2. Apply management techniques to achieve civil engineering project objectives.
3. Discuss professional and ethical considerations in civil engineering.


Syllabus

- Construction Organisations: Formation of construction organisation; organisational responsibilities to stakeholders; and construction project finance.
- Construction Project Appraisal: Cashflow; economics-based appraisal methods; and non-economics based appraisal methods.
