Objectives
The objectives of this module are to educate the students in advanced building services design techniques, and professional practices.Learning outcomes
An advanced understanding of the building services installed in multi-storey buildings and the use of design software to promote an energy efficient design and approaches to achieving an integrated low energy building design.
Syllabus
Advanced theory and practice in Building Services Engineering. Syllabus to remain flexible and to complement the work undertaken during the third year study abroad period and CIVE3815. It is expected that the following outline topic areas may be covered. Heating and Ventilation System and indoor air quality. Air-conditioning. Energy efficient building design. Transient analysis of thermal performance. Computational Fluid Dynamics. Commissioning. Plant sizing. Refurbishment. Renewable Energy.
