Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:- understand ethical issues from end-users' perspective
- design and prototype user interfaces
- take account of the needs of a diverse user population
- choose appropriate methods for usability evaluation
Syllabus
Ethics: codes of practice and key organisations (e.g., BCS, ACM and IEEE); relevance to user interface design. Design fundamentals (e.g., errors, colour, feedback, human memory, motor skills, accessibility) and practice (e.g., guidelines, standards, and cross-platform delivery). Low and high fidelity approaches to prototyping. Expert and user evaluation methods.
