- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the basic principles of the practical application of various imaging techniques.
Syllabus
This course provides a comprehensive overview of the practical and theoretical techniques for imaging biological systems, from tissues to cells, through to medical imaging. The underlying physical principals behind each imaging approach are addressed. Accordingly, the course starts with an introduction to biophysics and then centres on the key theories of imaging. It includes consideration of a number of applications including optical, fluorescence and multi-photon microscopy, spectroscopy, OCT, MRI, X-ray CT, PET and SPECT imaging.
