Objectives

On completion of this module, students should be able to:
- solve problems in a specific subject area relevant to their programme of study
- use selected texts related to similar material equivalent to Level 5M material.

Learning outcomes
- Advanced knowledge of focussed topics in chemistry
- Use of primary literature to research areas relevant to their programme of study
- Problem solving.


Syllabus

During the placement year the student will be set four open-book coursework assignments which are based on distance-learning coursework using selected texts. Each problem will require investigation by the student including literature searching using databases.

Solving problems using deductive reasoning, the chemical literature and relevant textbooks.
