Objectives
This module aims to provide students with the opportunity to develop a range of executive skills appropriate to a multi professional cohort working in health and social care. Using a variety of teaching and learning methods the participants will have the opportunity to learn the theoretical underpinnings of a range of skill areas, practice skills and explicitly develop plans for future skill enhancement and career management.Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:
- Critically assess the theoretical underpinnings and best practice of a range of skill areas including written business communication skills, written academic skills and verbal presentation skills
- Evaluate and respond to the challenges of working in groups
- Critically assess the challenges of working across organisational and professional cultures
- Undertake a career management assessment

Private study
120 hours - Private study and independent learning will take place.- First, directed reading in advance of taught sessions and as follow up to taught sessions.
- Second, the use of skills, personal attribute online and paper based diagnostic tools which will be used as a basis for completing assessed coursework.
Opportunities for Formative Feedback
Two assessed written outputs are required. Prior to final submission, students will have an opportunity to submit drafts and feedback will be provided.Outside of the workshops, students will be given the opportunity for feedback via email and virtual learning environment discussions with the LUBS tutor. This will enable them to further monitor their progress.
