Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:1. critically evaluate the value of the study programme to the workplace;
2. assess the short, medium and long-term impact of the study programme for the organisation;
3. evaluate their own learning, that of others involved in the programme (with particular reference to the value of the 'learning set'), and the employing organisation;
4. identify ways in which the learning from the study programme could be developed and utilised;
5. evaluate previous relevant research and learning in the study programme areas; and
6. assess the potential to transfer the learning outcomes from the programme to meet organisational needs.
7. critically review Personal Development Plans to monitor progress and facilitate continued professional development.
8. review their own development on the programme by synthesising reflective elements of previous module submissions to inform their evaluation of the programme.
9. assess the potential to transfer the acquired learning directly in support of national resilience.

Syllabus
The aim of this module is to ensure that the student and the organisation for which s/he works draw maximum benefit from the period of study through the production of:
(a) a rigorous evaluation of the programme and the potential benefits for the organisation; and
(b) a separate evaluation of the learning experience and how the learning could be utilised to support a national resilience agenda.
Coverage will include topics selected from: concepts in evaluation; evaluation strategies; critical analysis techniques; analysing approaches to study; utilising work-based methodology in the work-place & reviewing personal development plans.

150 hours of private study: Student learning will be fully supported by the preparation of online teaching materials and online tutorials.Additional Support:
Full advantage will be taken of the opportunities presented by the new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) to create an innovative module that is fit for purpose in its design and fully supports independent learning. This will include teaching narratives, online texts with commentary and action guides and resources as well as the use of discussion forums and individual online tutorials.
Opportunities for Formative Feedback
- Monitoring of student learning will be carried out on the VLE through the assessment of formative tasks and online tutorials.- Students will also submit draft work for qualitative review and feedback.
- Students will be expected produce notes of their learning and discussions which will be posted on the VLE.
- Formative feedback will be given on a draft before final submission and summative assessment.
