Module summary
The module gives an overview of the key areas of ecological and environmental economics and helps students develop an ability to interpret and analyse in economic terms various environmental issues and policies that they are likely to encounter as part of their studies and careers.Objectives
On completion of the module, the students should:- have developed a literacy in ecological and environmental economics and be able to understand the differences between them;
- be able to understand the economic rationale and implications of different environmental policy instruments;
- have developed a capacity to conduct economic analyses which are essential for practitioners, policy makers, and academics;
- be able to appreciate an interdisciplinary economic approach;
- have a capacity to engage in further economics-related studies.

If a student does not pass a module at the first attempt, it is normally possible to re-sit. Students will re-sit the assignment they failed, or if both are failed, then the student will resit the individual research project assignment only.
