Objectives
By the end of the module students will have gained knowledge of the followingAnatomy and physiology of the auditory, visual, central and peripheral nervous systems
Functional changes within these systems associated with disease and injury
Terminology used within medicine and health
Learning outcomes
On completion of this module, students will be able to:
1. Describe the anatomy and physiology of the peripheral and central auditory and visual pathways
2. Describe the anatomy and physiology of the peripheral and central nervous systems
3. Discuss functional changes of these systems associated with or resulting from disease or injury
Skills outcomes

Using anatomical orientation terms
Application of diagnostic sieve

Topics will include:
Overview of nervous system
Central nervous system
Peripheral nervous system
Anatomy of the ear and of the auditory pathways
Physiology of the ear and the auditory pathways
Anatomy of the eye and the visual pathways
Physiology of the eye and the visual pathways
Dysfunction of these systems
