Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to ...- understand the objectives of transport policy, the range of potential solutions to transport problems and their potential;
- appreciate the ways in which data can be obtained to measure and predict transport problems;
- be able to identify the ways in which road system performance gives rise to congestion, environmental intrusion and accidents;
- be familiar with transport modelling and traffic engineering tools that can be applied to analyse the effectiveness of different policy instruments;
- understand the fundamental concepts in transport economics and sustainability.

- The role of the traffic engineer/transport planner;
- Measuring current conditions;
- Transport modelling;
- Traffic engineering;
- Introduction to transport economics;
