Syllabus

Students work as part of a team, typically of 5-7 students, on a major design project which will be broad in scope and closely associated with industry. A series of tutorials support this activity. Meetings with industrial contacts also form a key element of the ongoing support.

Each team is presented with an outline of the problem to be addressed, supported as necessary by industrial documentation. Initially the group is required to develop this into an appropriate and realistic det of detailed project aims, objectives and a Project Implementation Plan. The work will then be managed by the group through progress meetings and informal tutorials.

The team communicates the final outcomes of the project as a written technical report and a presentation at the end of Semester 1.
