They are expected to maintain their E-portfolio throughout their training but it is also reviewed and assessed twice, over the taught course, by one of the course organisers. Assessment particularly focuses on the Development Log and Personal Development Plan (PDP) but entries should be made in all the following sections:

1 Personal Development Plan
2 Logbook/Certified Courses
3 Clinical Questions
4 Reflective Events/Critical Incidents
5 Education Meetings/CPD
6 Teaching & Presentations
7 Clinical Governance

10 Management Experience

Entrants to the PGDip Child Health not on ST run-through training will use a similar format portfolio downloadable from the VLE

Research protocol (20% of total mark)
In the second year, all students will be expected to plan and write up a research protocol. This is presented orally to the examiners at the end of Year 2. The mark received for the protocol and viva accounts for 20% of the Private Study module. Students continuing onto the MSc Child Health will develop this protocol for the third year research project
