Objectives

On completion of this module, students will have:
- improved their understanding of disability and its medical and social consequences;
- increased their skills in the diagnosis and management of the child with a disability;
- increased their knowledge of the organisation of services for disabled families.

Syllabus

This module covers recent advances in the understanding of the aetiology, diagnosis, clinical features and therapy of specific conditions associated with disability, and the medical and social issues common to many of these conditions.

The organisation of services for children and their families are reviewed.
