Objectives

To provide a supportive and developmental environment that will enable students to achieve the following:
(i) Understand and make appropriate choices between different research strategies;
(ii) Apply different research strategies;
(iii) Develop acceptable methods of oral and written presentation;
(iv) Develop social and research skills that will enable students to carry out their coursework with the maximum efficiency and which they will also later carry over into their working environment.

Syllabus

To provide students with a research training that is both tailored to the needs of research within the area of criminal justice and which will also be recognised by other institutions. The skills learnt by the student on this module can be carried on to future study or employment.

At the core of the Research Methods and Skills Module is a research methods programme which follows a 'traditional' research methods syllabus.
