Module summary

An opportunity for students to be fully involved from start to finish in the running of an event. As well as assisting in a University event, students will organise an event related to their experience and interests.

Objectives

Students will show they have acquired
- Understanding of the process of event planning including the management of people, resources, finances. time and venues to run an event. Reflection and evaluation of the process.
- the practical experience of planning, advertising and running an event along with the financial controls and limitations.

Learning outcomes
Understanding of the process of event planning including the management of people, resources, time and venues to run an event. Reflection and evaluation of the process.

To give students the practical experience of planning, advertising and running an event along with the financial controls and limitations.

On completion of this module, students should understand the basic principles of:
- planning including time management;
- financial planning;
- marketing;
- advertising;
- reflection & evaluation;
- team work.

Skills outcomes
To have been involved in the planning, running and evaluation of an event related to either their degree programme or other interests.

- health & safety legislation & risk assessment.
