Objectives

To enable students to:
Develop a range of academic skills required at undergraduate level.
Develop a range of interpersonal and professional skills required to operate effectively within organisations.

Learning outcomes
On completion of the module you will be able to:
Apply academic study skills to the standard expected within academic and business contexts
Write appropriately in essay and report formats
Apply a range of communication skills in different contexts
Produce employment application documentation following stated criteria and specifications
Evaluate your own academic skills and develop improvement strategies where necessary

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Students have the opportunity to discuss assignment planning and submit drafts of work for feedback on writing and critical thinking. Drafts of the summative module assessment can be submitted at specific points throughout the year to encourage the process of researching, planning, drafting, editing and managing an assignment over a period of time. Weekly meetings allow for regular discussion of student progress and communication via email is encouraged to develop students’ capacities to engage in appropriate written exchanges via electronic media
