Module summary
.Objectives
On completion of this module, students should be able to:- critically analyse the parameters of normal child health and the challenges of ill-health in childhood
- understand the impact of socio-economic, cultural and environmental factors influence a child's growth, development and health
- assess the effect of family breakdown, alcohol and substance misuse and domestic violence on child health
- evaluate the role of multi-disciplinary practitioners in influencing child and family health
-identify ethical and global perspectives on differing approaches to health and the family

2. The evaluation and practice of multi-disciplinary partnership.
Syllabus
This module aims to enable the student to critically analyse factors which impact upon normal child health, growth and development and to recognise deviations from the norm. It will go on to explore the effect of environmental, socio-economic and cultural factors on child health.
The student will study the effect of family factors such as family breakdown, alcohol and substance misuse and domestic violence and assess their effect on child health.
The role of multi-disciplinary agencies in the promotion of healthcare and strategies to be employed in preventative child health will be explored and evaluated.
