Objectives
The aim of the module is to develop understanding of organisational behaviour in theory and practice. Managerial and psychological perspectives are used to examine organisational functioning and effects. The module aims to encourage a multi-level and contextualised appreciation of organisations by attending to ‘macro’ organisational issues and ‘micro’ processes of individual and team behaviour. These aims contribute to the MSc Management programme by developing insight into how organisations operate from a people management perspective.Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to critically assess:
- theory and research within the discipline of organisational behaviour
- processes and relations in and around organisations that explain contemporary organisational functioning and effectiveness
- key ideas and challenges in the area of behaviour in organisations

Upon completion of this module students will be able to:

Syllabus
The module covers core topics within the field of organisational behaviour, including job design, teamworking, motivation, leadership, employee well-being, and organisational culture.

Private study
Students will be set reading that complements the material delivered in the lectures and seminars. They will also be set group assignments for the seminars that require prior reading and preparation. A reading week will take place in week 6 of teaching.Opportunities for Formative Feedback
Students will be expected to attend every session and to contribute to the seminar discussions. Group assignments will require presentations to the whole class and will provide an opportunity to monitor progress. There will be ample opportunity for student feedback and questions.Methods of assessment
