Objectives
- To enable candidates to use the knowledge gained and to practice skills learned;- to provide the opportunity for students to gain experience with practising professionals on real problems in the field in which they seek employment and, or,
- to engage in a minor research project;
- to enable candidates to show initiative, innovation and critical ability.
Syllabus
Individual students are given a choice of several project titles and receive guidance as to which is most suitable, taking into account background (eg whether or not they have professional experience) and inclinations as to future career.
The projects involve any or all of:
- literature survey
- field and site work
- laboratory testing
- analysis
- design and computing.
