Objectives

To introduce principles and concepts of construction management in relation to civil engineering.

Learning outcomes
1. Explain construction management systems and identify appropriate codes of practice and industry standards associated with the systems.
2. Discuss the role of civil engineering activities in promoting sustainable development.


Syllabus

- Importance and Structure of the Construction Industry
- Construction Management Systems: HASWA 1974; MHASW Regulations 1999; RIDDOR 95; CDM Regulations 2007; Quality Management; Environmental Management; and Construction Site Management.
