Objectives
The purpose of the module is:- to develop knowledge and understanding of factors influencing children's and young people's development and well-being
- to develop an understanding of the role of education in society
Learning outcomes
On completion of the module students will have a knowledge of:
- Child development
- Implications of legislation and policies
- Theories on education and its role in society
- Some of the relevant ethical issues and perspectives associated with discussion of education and child development
- Examples of global and cultural perspectives in relation to education and child development
