Module summary
This module encourages students to apply business and information strategy techniques to the management of health care information and systems. It is specifically aimed at developing the strategic management skills that students will need to become senior health informatics professionals.Objectives
On completion of this module students should be able to:- demonstrate a coherent and detailed understanding of the strategic issues in health informatics management;
- understand demand for health technology, IT and information systems;
- analyse effective approaches for building health informatics capacity within a health care organisation including the selection and procurement of appropriate health informatics solutions;
- produce a strategic plan and justify a pro-active portfolio approach to health informatics strategy and strategic planning.
Learning outcomes
Plan and manage the strategic use and development of health care information and information systems to support the transformation of health care and its management.
Skills outcomes
Application of strategy, risk analysis and evaluation in Health Informatics.
