Objectives

This module aims to equip students to identify, acquire and practice the key skills needed as a future senior manager in a major aviation enterprise.

Learning outcomes
Techniques needed for leadership of major aviation enterprises (typically these would be airlines, but students have the discretion to consider other types of large aviation-related businesses).

Skills outcomes
Aviation management techniques and the similarities/differences between aviation management and that of a generic enterprise.


Syllabus

Team project to develop a training package for those entering senior management of a major airline.
Semester 1: Development of a training manual
Semester 2: Design and delivery of training sessions
These activities are supported by lectures on airline economics and management, with extensive discussion topics.
