Differences between cost cutting, value engineering and value management are highlighted. The concept of the Client's Value System is introduced and approaches to teams and facilitation are explored. These are then illustrated in practice through an introduction of the more advanced techniques of the strategic briefing of projects. A case study is used throughout to explain the process, tools and techniques of value engineering and value management.
