Pre-requisites

Successful completion of level 1 in any French programme or equivalent linguistic competence in French.

This module is approved as an Elective

Objectives

To introduce students to a variety of texts from the French Middle Ages, and to enable them to acquire a reading knowledge of old French.

Syllabus

Edited extracts on Medfrench, a computer-assisted language learning package.

Teaching methods

Lectures, seminars and self-study on computer.

Methods of assessment

1 x 2 hour examination at end of semester 1 in English.
