Objectives
This module aims to give students a sound grounding in research methods at the level necessary to facilitate their undertaking of a research project to meet the requirements of the Project module, and allow them to use and evaluate research methods in a business environment.Learning outcomes
On completion of this module students will be able to:
- Design a research project and write a research proposal
- Develop a research strategy for a specific research project and critically evaluate alternative research methods
- Identify and critically evaluate literature relevant to a specific research question
- Identify critically evaluate and justify potential data collection and analysis methods
- Synthesise findings and make suitable conclusions and feasible recommendations

Opportunities for Formative Feedback
During the workshops students will receive feedback on their contribution to case study exercises and presentations. Model answers are issued for exercises to provide additional confirmation to students of their progress.Outside of the workshops, students will be given the opportunity for feedback via telephone, email or Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) discussions with the LUBS tutor. This will enable them to further monitor their progress.
