Private study
The module runs right across the programme and combines taught sessions, groupwork, assessments and independent learning.Students will be placed in challenging group learning environments and will need private time to undertake additional research both of the academic subject matter relating to leadership and change and for each of the three group activities which will require individuals to undertake research and report back to the group.
Professor John Hayes has developed a set of online Articulate materials covering Leading & Managing Change which students will use for self-study. A key element of the module is the development of the "Reflective Practitioner" and associated assessed report. Students will be encouraged to reflect in their private time on their development as a leader.
Opportunities for Formative Feedback
- All group work is facilitated by members of staff who will monitor both group and individual student progress.- The Articulate online learning materials contain self-test exercises that students will be encouraged to complete.
- The sequential nature of the three group challenges enables extensive feedback to be provided at the end of each challenge that can be used by students' to improve their performance in subsequent activities.
