Objectives
This module aims to introduce students to the basic concepts and research methods in Biological Psychology. A series of lectures about the basic neuroanatomy and the relationships between physiology and behaviour will give students the broad understanding required to progress to modules with biological content at level 2.Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- demonstrate that they know important theories and research findings in biological psychology;
- discuss the theories and key findings covered in the course and their relevance to everyday life;
- understand some of the ways in which our biology can interact with our environment to influence the way we behave
- understand how biological processes influence our feelings and behaviour.
Skills outcomes
Students will have the opportunity to consider how theory and research are integrated within the field of biological psychology, and how theory and research are applied to real world contexts.
