PEME5640M Advanced Drilling and Production TechnologyThis module is not approved as an Elective
Objectives
This module aims to teach students a range of advanced topics in drilling and production. It builds on the module CAPE3601 - Drilling and Production Technology, and advances from both theoretical and application fronts. Example topics covered will include formation pore pressure, stress analysis, multiphase flow, porous medium, enhanced oil recovery, and non-conventional oil and gas.The module will be delivered by lectures, seminars and tutorials, combined with a written in-class test and a final written exam.
The module will provide students more advanced understanding in the theory and techniques related to the drilling and production, especially for unconventional hydrocarbon sources, as well as developing their research capability in selected topics.
Learning outcomes
On completion of the module, students will have an advanced understanding of the theory, techniques and equipment used in drilling, production and refining, particularly related to non-conventional hydrocarbon sources.
Syllabus
