Module summary

This year-long module will introduce you to the social experience and practical realities of classroom language teaching. During the first few sessions, module tutors will prepare you for becoming an assistant to a teacher in the university language centre. You will then spend several classes collaborating with the teacher. This will provide you with a unique opportunity to observe and discuss pedagogical processes like lesson planning, choosing material, presenting language, managing the class and giving feedback to learners. Throughout this collaborative experience you will be encouraged to reflect on your experiences in a systematic way, building a portfolio that will form the basis of module assessment.
