Module summary

This module provides you with the opportunity to undertake a piece of your own original research in an area of business management. You will work on a project supported by a supervisor. You will plan and then carry out your own research, collect and analyse your own research data and then prepare a work based research project.You will engage in developing your confidence in digital skills by researching for your assignment. You will analyse and evaluate a number of online resources to assist with your literature review as well as your methodology

Objectives

The aim of the module is to allow the student to plan and undertake research and produce a research report on an area of business management. The module builds on and further develops the research skills introduced in the LLLC 2275 - Research Methods

Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this module students will be able to:
-Demonstrate an understanding of the different stages of the research process
-Justify the choice of research methodology
-Plan and undertake a piece of original research
-Apply quantitative and/or qualitative research methods

Skills outcomes
As part of this module students will develop a range of digital literacy skills. Further details are provided in the module handbook


Syllabus

The content will cover such areas as:
- The different stages of the research process;
- Research design and research methodologies;
- Qualitative and quantitative research techniques;
- Research ethics.
