Module summaryModern biological experiments produce large data sets involving information related to DNA. This module gives the basic biological background before looking at a range of data types and methods to analyse them.
ObjectivesTo explore a range of statistical methods pertinient to the analysis of scientific data relating to DNA.
To develop an understanding of
1. Molecular biology.
2. Analysis of evolutionary trees.
3. Statistical genetics.
4. Statistical modelling of microarrays.
5. Protein motifs and statistical models.
6. Forensic science and statistics.
