Private study

Students are required to undertake the specified pre-reading and preparation in advance of the seminars based on the material introduced in the lectures. The bulk of the private study will involve data analysis and research in order to prepare a business plan. Once the business simulation game is underway, they will need to work as a group to analyse their results and those of their competitors in order to make decisions. They will also need to work together to present their results and then individually reflect on their performance and that of their fellow group members.

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Students will be able to monitor their progress in grasping the theoretical content of the module in the seminar sessions. Solution notes for seminar activities will be made available. Once the game is underway, they will be able to monitor their business performance in comparison with other groups. Feedback given on the business plans submitted early in the course should assist students with performance monitoring throughout the game and with preparing the group presentation and reflective log.
