Private study

Independent learning will happen through the placement or project work. The student will spend 21 hours (minimum) on placement or on a specific assigned project. Alongside the placement, in terms of private study, students will produce a 'placement diary/reflective log' which will be submitted as part of their assessment. The reflective log will include mapping work, to visualize how their role fits in their organization as well as the identification of key policy drivers for their role and the organization in which they are placed. It will also include a personal and professional development plan.
Reading will also be undertaken in advance of each taught session.

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

The module workshops are designed to consistently build the knowledge and skills necessary for both the formal assignments. There are opportunities to present on all key aspects of the assignments through workshops structure. There will be specifically designed formative workshops – via student presentations – to help students prepare for the assessments. There is also a personal tutorial to give tailored one to one support on both personal and professional development plans and module assessments.
