Objectives

To provide students with a knowledge and understanding of how electronics technology is, and could be, used in medical applications and healthcare.

Learning outcomes
On completion of this module students should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of electronics in modern medicine and healthcare. They should be able to contribute to strategic planning, systems implementation and operation of e-health systems.

- Telemedicine and healthcare informatics
- Implantable and integratable electronic devices
- Care-in-the-home and the ageing population

- Healthcare economics
- Ethics, privacy and security
