Module summary
This module will introduce students to the different aspects of the design industry. Students will work on two projects where they will develop a range of skills and concepts that relate to a range of specific career directions within the industry.Objectives
This module will introduce students to the different aspects of the design industry. Students will work on two projects where they will develop a range of skills and concepts that relate to a range of specific career directions within the industry.Learning outcomes
On completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Understand the depth of research needed to understand design problems.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the design process in relation to specific design sectors.
3. Generate appropriate concepts from primary and secondary research;
4. Analyse and evaluate their creative proposals in order to identify an appropriate design solution;
5. Effectively communicate information through a creative direction.
6. Present their design solutions to a professional standard.
7. Manage their own time effectively.

Visual language
Creating memorable and effective communication
Generating, testing and evaluating ideas
Cultural influences and trends
Conceptual thinking and problem solving
