Objectives
On completion of this module students will:- have increased their knowledge and understanding of models of the consultation
- have reflected on and developed their own consultation skills
- have improved their skills in giving feedback
- be able to facilitate the development of the consultation skills of their learners

- Models of teaching consultation skills
- Assessment methods for consultation skills
- Communication as doctor and teacher
- Consultation skills: ability to identify and use them
- Ability to give feedback
- Ability to assess consultation formatively and summatively
- Self assessment
- The importance of identifying the patient's problem
- Shared responsibility for development of learner's skills
- Peer support in group work
