Objectives
This module aims to introduce students to threshold concepts in economics. To use these concepts in the application of economic theory to relevant economic issues and problems. The emphasis is on the UK economy but the module will explore the implications of the global environment in debating economic issues.Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the module students will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of micro and macroeconomic concepts and theories
- Apply concepts and theories to assess economic problems and policy solutions
- Identify major economic institutions of UK, EU & international economies and explain their role in a global context

Syllabus
Includes coverage of economic threshold concepts and theories in relation to: markets; national and international economies and UK/EU institutions in a global context.
