Objectives

OThis module aims to provide students knowledge of international distribution and supply chain activities, the issues involved in physical distribution and logistics decisions, the importance of multi-channel systems and the role of channels in developing a competitive advantage.

Learning outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:
- Evaluate channel alternatives for optimal mode of entry to international markets and relate this to the importance of value chains for assessing market channels
- Assess the management of distribution channels in terms of partnership and control issues
- Evaluate and relate distribution strategy to levels of customer service

Skills outcomes
Upon completion of this module students will be able to:

- Critically evaluates and apply academic theories on global distribution and supply chains and present reasoned and logical arguments
- Tailor the distribution strategies to match customer buying patterns

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Student progress is to be monitored by 100% essay question based 2hr exam, students can also choose if they'd like to obtain feedback (from both the module lecturer and their peers) towards their group presentation based on case study analysis in the seminar. Students will also have the opportunity to reflect how to apply learned knowledge by reviewing mock exam question answers from previous academic years (annoymous group practice work).
