Objectives
Learning outcomes
By the end of the module students will be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of the mechanical principles underlying activities and their assessment using various techniques;
- apply these principles to an analysis of sports performance;
- demonstrate key experience in the use of tools for modelling sports activity;
- Critically review the biomechanics research literature related to sports performance.
Syllabus
Optimal performance for Various Sports Activities - Kinetic and kinematic considerations.
Sports Equipment / Technology use in sport - Underlying principles alongside benefits, limitations and challenges.
Modelling Sports Activities - Application to analysis of sport.
