Objectives

- To pursue in depth a topic, issue or research question from a learning and teaching perspective
- To evaluate and apply a range of theoretical models to practice
- To apply a theoretical framework to practice through independent research
- To demonstrate an advanced level of analysis and synthesis in the research project report

Learning outcomes
On completion of the module students will have a knowledge of:
- the key concepts and theoretical models of their chosen topic;
- the use, application and evaluation of a variety of research methods;
- the skills of analysing, synthesising and presenting information in an appropriate format;
- strategies to communicate ideas clearly and succinctly.

Private study

Students will identify the literature, including theoretical models on their chosen subject, & analyse & synthesize key ideas and concepts. They will liaise with participants in their research setting and identify appropriate research methods. They will plan and conduct research and present the findings in an agreed format.

The tutorial is a group on-line tutorial

Opportunities for Formative Feedback

Progress will be monitored by regular formal tutorials & informally by email.
