- To implement an approved experimental plan whilst working as part of a research group
- To gain experience of a range of scientific methodologies
- To be able to report scientific findings both verbally and in writing

Learning outcomes
By the end of this module students will be able to provide evidence that they can:
- Implement a study protocol to address a specific Molecular Medicine research question;
- Work safely and in a professional manner in a research laboratory or other Molecular Medicine research environment;
- Demonstrate sound familiarity with specific experimental techniques applicable to Molecular Medicine;
- Identify potential sources of experimental and measurement error and develop strategies to minimise such error;
- Collect and store scientific data securely and ethically;
- Choose and apply appropriate statistical tests in the analysis of research data;
- Critically interpret their own research data;
- Write scientifically placing novel research in a broader context;
- Present their research as a poster and verbally.

Skills outcomes
